Now a days we are reading, hearing a lot about #MeToo word in headlines of news channels, on twitter and everywhere we are gossiping about it, For example-
How did this word suddenly comes up? Why so many stories coming out?
Why so many women speaking up?
Why not then? Why now?
Where is the proof? Why should we believe her?
May be these women wants to get publicity or wants to revive their drowning career.

What is #MeToo?
#MeToo is the voice of oppressed women which could never come out, our society has been trying to reduce or oppose victim's voice from long, in fact accused roam and work free and victim shaming happens, victim get life threats, career threats hence #MeToo is a big thing for women.
How did this word suddenly comes up?
#MeToo word spread virally in October 2017 as a hashtag used on social media in an attempt to demonstrate the widespread prevalence of sexual assault and harassment, especially in the workplace. It followed soon after the sexual misconduct allegations against Harvey Weinstein.
#MeToo movement got extreme success where most high profile celebrities and later millions of people shared their stories against their offender.

The sexual harassment which women were facing from long but were silent because of society's patriarchy thinking and under power of the perpetrators.
It takes a lot of courage to speak out about the harassment which has given you a lot of mental trauma and physical pain, which changes you in many ways, how you look other men, about the trust, about the instinct you make about any scenario where you have to go to meet people or work under.
Women needs a lot of power from inside and considerably bravery to name the perpetrator and to describe the incident even after decades because those bad memories are not easy to forget.
So #MeToo movement is a big change of indian society, by naming and shaming the sexual offender at least men will have a thought in their minds that now women are speaking up and we can't think she will not complaint anywhere and we won't be able to silent them forever, they can tell their stories now or later.

Because women are oppressed from initial, at home also elder people discriminate between son and daughter, son have more freedom than daughter, daughter has been given more lecturers about work culture, about safety, about not to go outside late night.
When Men get freedom to do anything from their childhood and to feel more powerful and free than women, then they imply this in their minds to offend or molest any woman ahead and they know she would have fear to tell about the incident to others because of victim shaming thinking of society and by thinking about her future, career, family. Women don't want to be called unprofessional and crazy or difficult to work with.
So when a man is in power then he feels more free to overpower a woman and to silent her by his position. hence women feel helpless, overpowered, depressed in these kinds of situations.
Some people even say -that time she was silent because she thought for give and take, she deliberately accepted everything to rise in her career so how can it become a sexual harassment?
but that's a false thing, If only this situation is true then why don't we hear these kind of stories about women in higher positions and in power? Why only men are ready to take advantage of a powerless woman? Why flirting cross the barrier and go to sexual harassment so easily?

Any sexual harassment can't be recorded because that comes suddenly when she didn't even think what will happen next..
A perpetrator will choose only that place to offend a woman where no any CCTV camera can record his wrong doings, where a woman doesn't get chance to record anything for any further complaints, so she doesn't has any proof beside her truth, her memory and her voice which later will be called false allegations by the accused offender.
Any sexual harassment can't be recorded because that comes suddenly when she didn't even think what will happen next..

Why should we believe her?
My reply- Why should we not believe her and why we should only think that she has some motives?
It takes a lot of courage to come out, to speak and name your predator and to again go in that traumatic phase by remembering those difficult moments. Most women would not even think in dreams to create false accusations against anyone, by naming that person she is also putting herself or her family in a difficult situation and without even thinking about further consequences which we know, no any molester would accept these allegations against him so he will deny it and threat her ahead by sending court notice, by slapping defamation case, will pressurize her to withdraw her accusations by his power/approach or to just silent her fully by everything he can do possibly.

Some people think that this is a propaganda in artistic field or happening only there but that's not at all true, every work field and even housewives, school going, college going girls have been harassed in their life plenty of times so every girl, woman has her #MeToo story.
So girls and women I just salute you to come forward and encourage other women. I would like to appeal more women to come forward to make work place, houses, transportation , roads more safe for women.
I would like to specially take Tanushree Dutta's name because of her courageous act women started feeling that they should also share their MeToo stories.
When women are courageous and won't be silent against any discrimination, against any sexual abuse then it will send a big message to this misogynistic and patriarchy society that we won't be able to control her, we won't be able to shame her, we won't be able to silent her and we should think about a word called consent.
Women should support other women to make the cause successful, together we can win, together we can try to make this society safe for us.
In the end I would like to appeal many good men out there to help and support women in this cause, if you ever see anything wrong by a fellow colleague/senior in work place or any of your relative or unknown person harassing a woman then set an example by standing for her and speaking.
Let's make a better world together where women can feel more free and safe.
